My Background and Beginnings:
It's certainly debatable where I come from; whenever anyone asks me I fumble around for a second before I can decide if I'm a California girl or a Florida girl... either way, I'm a beach girl!
I was born in La Jolla, California at Balboa Military Hospital. I lived in California for most of my childhood, and then moved to Key West when I was twelve years old. I loved Key West more than words could express, and feel very lucky to have had the chance to grow up on such an amazing island. I was always very active in my youth and was part of an array of activities; rollerblading, snorkeling, swim-team, track and field... you name it. I especially love open water swimming.
Lobster season was always my favorite time of year, and loved going out on my flats boat Growing up on the water allowed me opportunities to enjoy all types of water-sports. Having a Navy Seal for a father wasn't always easy, but gave me the insight and discipline to be the person I am today. My first experience as a personal trainer was probably at the age of 14! I have fond memories of being on the Special Forces base and instructing new recruits to do push-ups! It wasn't until I moved to Tallahassee Florida that I discovered my love affair with strength training. I took a tour of the Gold's gym there, and was a member up until the day I moved to Colorado, where I now reside. I was a "gym rat" from the day I signed up... I loved it!
I loved weight lifting so much that I became a certified personal trainer in 2006, and have been sculpting hot bodies ever since! Strength training gives you a sense of accomplishment and confidence unmatched by anything else, and I want to share this with people. Competing has just recently become a passion of mine; I'm a sucker for the spot-light. I am truly grateful to the fitness industry for giving me a platform to truly shine and share my passion! I plan on competing as much as possible in the future, so keep on the lookout for me... coming to a stage near you!
