This is the 100m final in 1996 at the Atlanta Olympic Games. My favorite athlete, Gail Devers, repeated as the 100m Olympic champion by winning gold over Merlene Ottey of Jamaica by five-thousandths of a second. Gail is only the second woman in history to win two consecutive olympic 100m titles since Wyomia Tyus back in 1964 and 1968. Gwen came in as the favorite with her win at the trials, and the prediction was that Merlene would get silver and Devers third. Here are the results

1. Gail Devers (USA) 10.943

2. Merlene Ottey (JAM) 10.948

3. Gwen Torrance (USA) 10.96

4. Chandra Sturrup (BAH) 11.00

5. Marina Trandenkova (RUS) 11.06

6. Natalya Voronova (RUS) 11.10

7. Mary Onyali (NIG) 11.13

8. Zhanna Pintusevych (UKR) 11.14
